Project Description:

A new development comprising of 36 units, a mixture of 1,2 & 3 bed apartments set over 4 floors with commercial space for a café and shared workspace on the ground floor.


Project Principals and Objectives:

The scheme will provide flexible use commercial space at ground floor and new high quality residential dwellings above. The scheme will be a car free development and have carefully considered materiality and landscaping. Hot water will be provided to all apartments by connection to an exhaust air source heat pump system. Each apartment will be served by their own air heat pump which provides a highly efficient source of heat energy. In addition to a highly efficient heat source, the building will be provided with roof mounted Photovoltaics’ to provide a low carbon source of electrical energy to reduce the need for grid supplied energy. The building will be fully compliant with energy reduction requirements. Budget has been adhered to by agreeing client brief at beginning of project, developing design brief or stage 2 report with design intent and agreed list of equipment and manufacturers or adhering to ER’s. This scheme is a mix of residential and community/commercial space, providing 36 private residential apartments and a communal workspace for start-up businesses and freelancers and a Café geared to reducing food waste and providing a sustainable, inclusive space to benefit the local community. KPI’s • To provide an energy efficient means of generating hot water and heating via Nilan exhaust air heat pump • Building Fabric designed with low U values in mind to reduce heat loss. • Combined MVHR system with Nilan system.

MEPS Consulting were appointed to provide full M&E design services, RIBA stage 1 – 6 for the shell and core and apartment fit-out. This includes the provision of:
